OnePlus has announced a refund for the newly launched OnePlus 12R.

This is after the brand mistakenly announced UFS 4.0 storage on the OnePlus 12R’s 256GB variant.

Those who purchased the OnePlus 12R can return it and get a full refund.

OnePlus made a mistake during the OnePlus 12R launch by announcing a wrong detail about the smartphone. The brand had initially announced UFS 4.0 storage for the OnePlus 12R 256GB storage variant but OnePlus President and COO, Kinder Liu, later clarified that both variants of the phone support UFS 3.0. Liu has made another announcement on the same, this time offering a full refund to those who purchased the OnePlus 12R 256GB model. 

OnePlus 12R refund details

Liu announced on the OnePlus community forum an update for whoever purchased the OnePlus 12R 256GB variant. Since none of the OnePlus 12R variants have UFS 4.0 as initially announced, the company is offering a full refund. 

With UFS 4.0, you get an improved performance overall with faster app launches, data access, and saving files on your phone. Both OnePlus 12R 128GB and 256GB variants come with UFS 3.1 storage. 

If you’re not happy with the fact that your OnePlus 12R 256GB variant has UFS 3.1 instead of UFS 4.0 then you can return the device and get a full refund until March 16th. 

You can initiate a return and refund process by contacting the OnePlus customer service.

Liu adds that the OnePlus 12R still “lives up to the high expectations you have of our devices and that you will love it when you try it.”

The refund process is now live globally so even those in India can return the OnePlus 12R by contacting the official customer service. Here, OnePlus 12R starts at Rs 39,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 45,999.
